Busy College Student's Life

Well, Guess what! I'm graduating with a degree next semester. I'm getting my bachelor in Health Education. All I have to do is take one general (which I've been avoiding for 4 years. And some higher division HCA class. One of my bosses has already told me that I can do my practicum through her business and that all my teaching classes can go toward my hours. Yepee! The only downfall is that the practicum has to be unpaid. But hey, I'll have a degree!
It's been killer busy for me too. I've been trying to pick up as much hours as I can around the different places that I work so that I can build up a saving for me and Phil until he finds a job. SO. I've been working about 40-60 hours a week. Which really isn't that bad....Until you put midterms into the mix. Than I was ready to chop my hair and lock myself in my basement so nobody could find me. (if you've seen my basement, you know what I mean.) But, only one exam left in Botany, and I'm through! I can go back to slacking off.
On anther note. I got to go home this past weekend. And I say my friends new baby. I wont lie. I really wonted one just like hers. It was so cute! Plus, another Friend of mine is due in like 3 days. And she's so big and round and fluffy looking! Kinda makes me want one too. But, on the bright side of my baby hungriness! I wont have insurance, so I have time to get my head on straight and realize that I'm not old enough yet to have a baby. Someday!

Lots to Catch Up On

I've got a bit of news that needs to be uploaded and pictures displayed. The fist of which, is that I finished remodeling the bathroom! Hip Hip Horah! I couldn't have done it without some help. Mainly my dad and Ryan since they pretty much did everything. But Kevin and Mike also helped with plumbing, electrical and making sure that everything would actually work. Big THANKS out to them. Now, for you to get a complete idea of what went into this project, picture if you will: were the bathtub is, there used to be a unusable closet (yes, the house is that old). The sink was under the big picture of the light house (a little 2X2 sink) and the tub was where the sink is now. Crazy right? Lots of work. I also tiled the floor since we kinda ruined it when we pulled out the closet. But Jessica helped me paint and pick out colors. My mom did a fantastic job putting the tile behind the sink (that my favorite part). I just love my bathroom. LOVE IT! It's my favorite room in the house! It took us about 7 months to do it...But we stuck with it and it's done! Totally worth the wait!

On anther topic, Phil and I had an opportunity to go and see Royal Bliss at the Bannock County Fair grounds last night. If you don't know who they are, they are a band from Utah that is up and coming. My friend Stephanie Martin went with me and Phil. We were front and center in the audience. They put on a great show. Some of the stupid alcoholics were getting a little annoying as they tried to keep running across the stage, but what can ya do? But there were a lot of youngsters in the crowd. Neil (the head singer) let them up on stage to rock out...Which was totally cute! There little fists in rock signs, jumping around the stage. A bunch of little 4 year old standing up with their rock signs. A band called Jeremy Buck and the Bang also played with them. I've never heard this band, but Phil has (they opened for blues travelers a few years back). I loved them. They had amazing stage presence. I would love to see them again! After the concert there was a meet and great at the Benton Bar and Grill. So Heck yea! We headed over to get pictures.

Okay, last topic. So ISU has been doing cuts and lay offs for a while now. Phil just got laid off about a week ago. So he's got about 5 more weeks at ISU before he has to find a new job. He's been putting in applications to all the surrounding press shops and graphic arts departments, but in this economy, they are all struggling too. So with the struggle of finding a job and all the fun things that are associated with that life has been fun. Phil is thinking about going back to school also. He is still looking into it. I'm not sure what he is going to end up doing. But hopefully, with my workaholic ambitions, I can keep us floating until he has found what he wants to do. Seems stressful now, but things always work out right? Never have meet anybody where it hasn't!

Big Picture

So, I'm to the point in my college education to where you don't have a lot of options on when and what classes you take. For those of you that don't know, I am currently a Health Edcation major. All I need is an internship (that I probably wont do). October I can apply to the Secondary Education program to be a high school teacher with a major in Health Ed and a minor in Biology. Well, I teach fitness classes for ISU right? I'm also need to take Ecology. It turns out that I signed up for a lab in Idaho Falls instead of Pocky and there for can't take the classes of ecology I need because I would have to give up classes for the PE department, where I already signed a contract for the semester. So I am now 4 credits under where I need to be, and might have pushed myself back a semester from graduation. I titled this the Big Picture because: even though I keep screwing up my schooling, as long as I am working on my degree it still counts right? As long as I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and know that someday it will end, I can put up with this. sigh. It stinks. Right when I think I have it set!
On a really exciting note! I got a new fridge!!!! My parents are amazing! Some of the best out there. My mom found me a stainless still, glass top brand new coputer oven! I was sooooo excited. The one in my house was sooooo old and ugly. So, I got a new beautiful stove next to an ugly old yellow fridge. Well, today my parents dropped me off a brand new fridge with the shinny silver frong, pull out freezer bottome....it's so geourgous! I'm so excited to get it! Mom, your the BEST!!! and Dad? You are too for the help you do with the bathroom!!!!

Yesterday (Saturday) Phil and I had the great opportunity to attempt and conquer the Hike up Table Mountain. Oh my it was a good hike! We got on the mountain about 7:30am and it took us four hours to get to the top. When we got to the top we sat and had lunch. Phil a ways from the edge, me with my feet hanging over the side. The South Fremont Football team was hiking it that day too. I'm proud to say that I wasn't complaining as much as they were about how hard it was. As hot as it felt, there was still snow along the trail. Somebody before us made a snow man which I thought was awesome. The hike was very difficult, but the view the entire way makes the hike completely worth it!

I had the opportunity to go to Grandma's yesterday and pick out some of her tea pots that were Great Grandma Nelsons. I was so excited! I loved the once I got. It really meant a lot to me to get a piece of Grandma like that. It's lame, but I don't know how to load pictures...I'm sad to be in the generation of technology! But I don't care to learn if I know Phil can do it for me, so when he puts it in the computer I'll show you the onces I got!

School also starts tomorrow. Can I get a 'Yeah!!!' HA! I don't think I've ever been less excited to go back to school. Usually after the summer is coming to an end I get excited to head back to school. But this summer has been so fun and I've done so many fantastic things that it's hard for me to focus back in on school. Wish me luck!

One more thing! Phil and I have been working on improving our house....I'm not sure if this really counts as improving, but I bought a new couch and love seat. They were having a sale to that if you bought the couch, you got a love seat or recliner for $99. I was so excited! I don't even let my cats close!!! Also, along with home improvement, my bathroom remodeling project is almost done! I am so excited!!!! So close!

So I finished school a week or two ago. Got a nice A for my summer courses. Can't wait until school starts again at the end of August. I get so bored in the summer. There's not enough to do during the day. You can clean a house only so many times.
My brother got married...And I assume that all of you know. It was a pretty cool wedding. It was my first time in the Twin Falls Temple since the detication. Very pretty. The week before the wedding I got the chance to go to JaNay's bachelorette party. That was fun, I'm glad I had the chance to go.
For the 4th of July we went to my Uncle Jon's house. The fireworks were amazing. It's really cool to be that close to feel the vibes from the explosions. It really brings out the pyro in me. We went jet skiing too. The last run on the water I sat behind Phil, Andrea was behind Ryan, and Randy was on the third jet sky. Jessica was suffering from a head ache from her numerous blows to her head (one from my elbow) so she was watching from the dock. It was so much fun! The three of us were trying to spray each other. I had a blast. What was nice was that we were going too fast and loud for Phil to hear me squealing behind him. I must admit, there were times I got a little scared.

So my semester is officially over!!! And summer school started Monday. Fun stuff. Last semester I got all As and two A-. Pretty good I think. But don't go thinking that I'm the smartest person in the world yet. Keep in mind that all my classes where Health Education. It's not exactly engineering or accounting, but at least my classes are fun and I learn information that is actually life changing. Unlike you math based smart people! My knowledge can change lives! But don't think it's all rainbows and flying kites either. I do work really really hard for my grades. Summer school I think will go ok. It's a lot of work doing a full semester in 4 weeks. But hey, I'm superman. I can do anything!
So, as many of you may know, I work as a fitness instructor for ISU and a local gym called EXCEL. EXCEL is taking their business in a new direction and I was wondering what you all thought about it. We are starting to promote mind-body techniques. Diet and exercise was not working for all of our clients. Some clients needed something more to believe in than just exercise. Just because you want to loose weight, doesn't necessarily mean you can. So my boss is starting to implement things such as aromatherapy and tapping. We are helping our clients to make a better connection with themselves to help them loose weight more effectively. So. Tapping. What you do is tap on parts of your body (mainly your face, chest and hands) to open up the electrical pathways that keep your body in balance. The points you tap are the same as those they use in acupuncture. We just don't use needles to get everything lined back up. As you tap the certain points on your body, you will think of an issue: I am letting go or my anxiety of loosing weight. Or: I am letting go of my fear of being overweight. Something like that. The tapping helps open up your body and you become more in control or yourself? Or have a better understanding of what's really going on. Something like that. I can't decide if I buy into it. I see it working on clients, but I'm just not sure. What do you guys think? Too organic? Nothing a pill can't fix? I want to know what you think. Would you guys being willing to try it? Do you already beleive it works? Is the whole idea bogus?

Sorry, can't figure out how to turn the picture upright.

So the little cutte in white is Morgan. Her baby blessing was on Sunday. Phil and I drove down on Sunday to see the family. Margie made a delicious dinner. We spent time with the family for the day. It was a great day.
Also this week is finals. Always a fun time. Going well so far, as well as I can some how mustar the desire to study for my last final on Friday. I'm telling you, they need to find a way to fit all finals in Monday through Wednesday. Nobody wants to take a final on a Thursday or Friday. Surely the university could work the schedules out better.
